Dr. Deb Thomas has been fueled by her love for animals since her early days growing up on a homestead in Alaska. Surrounded by Malamute sled dogs and German Shepherds, her passion for veterinary medicine blossomed. After a decade of service in the military, she pursued her dream, graduating from WSU in 1994 with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.

For over a decade, Dr. Thomas dedicated herself to caring for small animals in Eastern Washington and Renton before shifting her focus to emergency medicine in Thurston County, where she spent six years honing her skills. In 2011, she found her professional home here at NVC, where she continues to champion ethical breeding practices and nurture the human-animal bond.

During her free time, she enjoys immersing herself in the world of dog breeding and competition. With a pack of six bearded collies by her side, along with seven sheep and seven goats, she actively participates in competitive herding trials and dog shows where she has left an indelible mark of top awards and accolades. Some of which include numerous high end all-breed and specialty herding trials, as well as top awards at both regional and specialty dog shows.
